The global playing field is starting to reshape itself with a new strategy called Divergent Critical Thinking. The success of students will now more likely be determined by educators who can best learn and relearn, apply and re-apply what they have learned into an abstract and/or concrete objective and/or environment on a moment to moment basis.

The 21st century is being driven by up-to-date information. Information that was current this morning is not likely to be current this afternoon. Therefore, in order to maintain this type of information driven pace, students must attain and maintain one crucial skill, Divergent Critical Thinking.

THE ASKIA LEARNING CONCEPT TWELVE METHODS OF LEARNING

Askia Magic Box: This strategy teaches students processes for organizing and using symbolic notations/fractions. It features a series of sequential instructional activities to lock in skills.


Askia Tree: This strategy teaches students skills in organizing, acquiring and using information and fractions.


Askia Unstructured Sentence: This strategy reinforces students’ abilities in organizing, acquiring and using information, vocabulary, sentence structure and writing.


Askia House: This strategy teaches students skills in organizing, acquiring and using information; using symbolic notations, problem solving, reflecting on problem solutions orally and in writing; solving multi-step problems; using a variety of strategies, patterns, and writing. It also features a series of sequential instructional activities to focus on the skills.


Askia Open Window: This strategy reinforces the skills acquired in the Askia House. It extends the learning by providing opportunities for the students to move into the advanced levels of the skills. Research is the focus of this module to develop students' skills in finding and applying information.


Askia Unstructured Paragraph: This strategy moves the students into learning activities which provides opportunities to use their organizational tools, acquiring information as well as critical thinking and reading skills to write logical paragraphs.


Askia Table Tops: This strategy is a resource station to present interdisciplinary content through a geography framework that promotes global thinking.


Askia Writing: This strategy teaches the four levels of reading comprehension and the development of questions and answers from a reading passage that moves students to write essays and/or paragraphs and short stories.


Askia Play Book: This strategy integrates Askia Writing with all of the skills that have been presented in previous modules including reading comprehension, organizing, acquiring, using information, using symbolic notations, whole numbers/fractions and writing.


Askia Short Stories/Software: This program focuses on writing, research and interactive audio to reinforce reading comprehension, organizing, acquiring and using information, using symbolic notations, whole numbers and fractions.


Askia Thinking Cap/Software: This program uses interactive audio to engage students in critical thinking, organizing information, with focus on drawing conclusions and multi-step problem solving.


Askia Grid/USA/Software: This program is the culminating series to engage students in interactive cooperative, interdisciplinary learning. It features problem solving and global content reading.
